The User Interface Laboratory
at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) conducts research on design and evaluation of product user interfaces for better usability. The concept of usability encompasses effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction of a product. Cognitive/physiological aspects of users and properties of products/environment are considered as a whole to improve the usability. Recently, the lab’s research focus is shifting to the design of context-aware and intelligent user interface that can adapt itself to users’ preference, task, emotion, etc., especially in mobile and ubiquitous environment.
